Our certifications
We are proud of our certifications, each of which supports our mission to create the very best environment for our guests. We strive to give you that extra special experience - whether you're here for a meeting, a party or an overnight stay. Every day, all year round. Welcome to Skanderborg Park!

How we work with sustainability
At Skanderborg Park we focus on sustainability - including ecology, climate and our CO2-footprint. We are a Green Key certified hotel. Green Key is an eco-label from Horesta that sets requirements for 13 action areas - including waste, energy and water.
Below you can see how we work with sustainability in practice and what specific initiatives we are working on.
Focus on ecology
Since 2022, we have held the bronze Organic Eating Label. This means that 30-60% of our purchased ingredients for the kitchen and bakery as well as drinks for the restaurant and bar are organic.
Minimize food waste
We make a great effort to minimize food waste. One way we do this is by serving lunch in portions as far as possible. Evening meals are basically one serving with the option to choose a second serving.
Food waste is measured for all meals of the day, so we have data on expected consumption for different guest categories.
The measurements mean that we reduce food waste to a minimum. The inevitable food waste goes into the food grinder and is converted into biofuel.
Since 2019, we have had the REFOOD label, which is a certification of companies that take action against food waste.
Solar cells on the roof
We benefit from power from our own solar panels. The green power accounts for more than 1/3 of the power in the summer months and 21% of the power on an annual basis.
Meat-free dishes in the restaurant
On Tuesdays and Thursdays we do not serve meat in our hot dishes for lunch, but instead offer a varied and exciting selection of vegetarian dishes. For dinner, guests can opt for vegetarian dishes.
Focus on quality and animal welfare
We focus on quality and animal welfare, which is why our guests have the opportunity to enjoy meat from welfare pigs every day. The pigs live in the open air and without stables with min. 40 m2 to frolic in per pig. They live in fields with mud pits and spacious huts with warm and dry straw beds.
The pigs come from Kæragergård near Vejle and are subjected to minimal transportation. This reduces stress levels, increases animal welfare and improves meat quality. You can taste it all - especially our delicious bacon on the breakfast table.
Energy, heat and water
We regulate the heat in meeting rooms and guest rooms every day as needed.
We have light sensors in a number of common areas, and in the hotel rooms the guest must activate the light upon arrival.
We have automatic taps in all public toilets and water-saving installations in all rooms.
Reduced washing of textiles
In the restaurant, we've replaced our tables so we can set the table without tablecloths - both for everyday and parties.
Hotel guests with multiple consecutive nights can opt out of having their rooms cleaned and towels changed.
Waste sorting - inside and out
We sort our waste into 10 fractions, plus food waste that goes to biofuel.
Hotel guests are motivated to sort waste upon arrival, in conference rooms and in their rooms.
Waste sorting has meant that we have reduced our residual waste by 38%.
Charging stations for electric cars
More and more people are arriving in electric cars and during their stay they have the opportunity to charge their cars at one of our 12 charging stations on the campus
Financial Sector Training Center
Skanderborg Park is owned by the Financial Sector Training Center (FU), which is housed side by side with us. We each run our own business and benefit greatly from each other.
FU is a development and learning partner for the financial sector, and we have historical roots in 1969, when the hotel primarily functioned as a boarding hotel for banking students in school. In 2012, Skanderborg Park was spun off as an independent subsidiary to open up the facilities to other companies and private guests.
Luckily, we still share a site with FU, which is our biggest customer.
